St. Louis Steamers News Release

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Steamers President & CEO Michael Hetelson announced today that the Steamers will open training camp on Monday, October 17 at Vetta Soccer Dome in Webster Groves.

Training Camp will run five days from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is open to the public. The Steamers are scheduled to open the preseason on October 29 versus the Cincinnati Excite of the American Indoor Soccer League. The AISL is a "Division II" indoor soccer league with teams in Massachusetts, Chicago, Cincinnati and Detroit. This will be the second time that the Excite have faced a foe from the MISL. Last October, Cincinnati played the Cleveland Force in two exhibition duels.

Training Camp will also give the fans an opportunity to get their first look at new Steamers head coach Omid Namazi. Namazi was named the 2005 MISL Coach of the Year guiding the Force to wins in 15 of its final 19 regular season games and a 23-16 overall record, good for a second-place finish in the MISL regular season standings. Cleveland advanced to the MISL Finals but were beaten by the Milwaukee Wave.

The Steamers are scheduled to open the season on November 26 at Savvis Center versus the Philadelphia Kixx. You can purchase tickets now by calling 314-241-GOAL (4625).
