Steamers Hit the Road to California

December 21, 2005 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
St. Louis Steamers News Release

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Steamers (5-2) will travel to Stockton, CA to take on the California Cougars (0-8) tomorrow night in the brand new Stockton Arena. Game time is scheduled for 9:30 pm CST. This will be the third meeting between the two franchises this season.

In the first two match ups, both occurred in Savvis Center. On Dec. 4th, the Steamers routed the expansion Cougars, 8-1. The next meeting, on Dec. 10th, was a closer battle but one the Steamers eventually won, 6-3. The Cougars have yet to win a game in their inaugural season and have played only one previous home game thus far. They lost that game to the Baltimore Blast, 10-6.

The Steamers will enter the game with a four game winning streak and will be following up on their first road victory of the season in which they defeated the Chicago Storm, 7-4 on Sunday night in Chicago. It was the first win on the road for the Steamers who had lost their previous two. The win pushed the Steamers record to 5-2 and inched them closer to the division leading Milwaukee Wave (7-0).

The next home game for the Steamers will be played on Thursday, December 29th, at 7:35 pm at the Savvis Center against the Chicago Storm.
