Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth participated in National Red Ribbon Week (October 21-25) by visiting local elementary schools and discussing the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. The mission of the Red Ribbon Week Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a drug free America. This campaign is designed to establish a network of people in every community to support drug free choices.
On Tuesday, October 22, Stealth Director of Media Relations Deuane Howard visited Oatville Elementary School in southwest Wichita and on Thursday, October 24, he visited Freeman Elementary in Haysville, Kansas, speaking to audiences of about 150 students at each school ranging from first grade to fifth grade.
"As part of our community service initiative, the Stealth staff feels that it is our duty to educate the youth of our community about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse," said Howard. "If we can influence the students into a positive and successful drug-free life then it benefits the whole nation."
