February 17, 2017 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Vancouver Stealth News Release
Vancouver, BC- The Vancouver Stealth (2-5) will visit the Calgary Roughnecks (3-3) on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
In Week 2, Vancouver roughed-up Calgary with a 12-11 win inside the Scotiabank Saddledome. One week later the Roughnecks returned the favor and ruined the home opener inside the Langley Events Centre beating the Stealth 14-10.
After defeating Vancouver, the Rougnecks went on a two-game winning streak and most recently are riding a two-game skid, dropping games to Toronto and Saskatchewan. Calgary is led by six-year veteran Curtis Dickson who is a top-ten scorer in the National Lacrosse League. After six games, he has 22 goals, 15 assists and 37 points. If he continues his scoring touch he will break career highs in all three categories.
The Stealth on the other hand, have boasted the league's top scorer for every single day of the season except one and that was last Sunday. Shortly after faceoff, Corey Small would regain the top spot. Small continues to light up the league, scoring 17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points. Teammate Rhys Duch currently sits third on the league leaders list with 18 goals, 27 assists and 45 points.
Tye Belanger has been a bright spot in the Stealth's crease. Belanger started his second game in a row last Sunday making 43 saves and had a 0.811 save percentage.
"Our goal is to come out with a winning record in the middle third of the season," said Tye Belanger. "We have to approach this next game in Calgary determined to do whatever it takes to come out on top. Winning is the only thing on our minds heading into the weekend."
All Vancouver Stealth games are available on NLL TV and on TSN Radio .
After their game in Calgary, the Stealth will play back-to-back weekends at home inside the Langley Events Centre. They host the Rochester Knighthawks on February 25, 2017 and the Saskatchewan Rush on March 4, 2017. Tickets are available at the Langley Events Centre Box Office at 604-882-8800, or Ticket Rocket.co .
