
Stealth Host the Rush

Vancouver, BC- The Vancouver Stealth (3-6) will host the Saskatchewan Rush (6-2) on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Heading into Week 10 action, the Saskatchewan Rush are riding a six-game winning streak including a win over Vancouver in Saskatoon. Offensively, the Rush are led by Mark Matthews who has scored 19 goals, 37 assists and 56 points in eight games this season. Saskatchewan is first in the West in goals for.
Meanwhile, the Stealth are second in the West in scoring. Led by Corey Small who heading into Week 10 is the National Lacrosse League leader in points. Small has scored 25 goals, 36 assists and 51 points in nine games. Although he missed last game, Rhys Duch is second on the team in scoring with 19 goals, 28 assists and 47 points in eight games.
The Stealth look to their continued success on the defensive side of the ball. Between Brendan Fowler and Jarrett Toll, Vancouver have amassed the second highest faceoff wins in the NLL and have collected the second most loose balls in the West Division. Tye Belanger is looking for his fifth straight start in net. He has an 11.48 goals against average which puts him eighth, while the league average is 12.14.
"To beat the Rush, it is going to take an overall team effort for a full sixty minutes. We can't afford to have any part of this team to have a let down," said Tye Belanger. " Whether that is myself in goal, the guys in front of me on defence or our offensive sticks going cold. We want to win at home but out main focus is to win, period."

The Stealth hit the road against Colorado on Sunday, March 12, 2017 for a 5:00pm start. They will be back home on Friday, March 17, 2017 when they host the Buffalo Bandits on a rare Friday home game.
