Stealth goaltender Anthony Cosmo selected to play for Team Canada

(San Jose, CA, April 6, 2007) --- The Canadian Lacrosse Association announced their Goaltenders for the Warrior 2007 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships yesterday, and San Jose Stealth Net Minder Anthony Cosmo has been chosen to represent Team Canada alongside Steve Dietrich of the Buffalo Bandits, and Gee Nash of the Colorado Mammoth. This prestigious tournament will feature twenty games from May 14-20, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Cosmo, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, was the starting goaltender for the Western Division in the 2005 and 2006 NLL All-Star Games. He currently holds the Stealth franchise records Goalie Minutes (1989:22), Saves (1,232), Save Percentage (.779) and Wins (13) after playing three seasons for the Stealth. This will be Cosmo's second time representing Team Canada in the World Indoor lacrosse Championships.

"It's an honor to be selected," said Cosmo. "It's always been my childhood dream to represent my country and play with the best players in the world."

Taking place every four years, the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships commenced in 2003 with the first competition held in Ontario. The original seven day tournament featured six nations and was won by Team Canada. This year, the tournament will feature the world's top indoor lacrosse players from Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Ireland, Iroquois Nationals, Scotland and the United States.

The Canadian Lacrosse Association will be announcing the Forwards for the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships on April 10.
