Stealth Down Roughnecks 19-12

CALGARY -The San Jose Stealth defeated the Calgary Roughnecks, 19-12, in front of 9,488 fans at Pengrowth Saddledome on Friday, February 20.

San Jose broke a 3-3 tie after the first quarter, outscoring Calgary 9-2 in the second. Dan Teat scored six goals to lead the Stealth, who improve to 5-3, claiming second place in the Western Division.

Teat's second goal in the second quarter gave San Jose a 6-3 lead, chasing Curtis Palidwor from the goal. Matt King fared no better, as Teat completed his hat-trick only one minute later.

Eight other players scored goals for San Jose, including a hat-trick for Josh Sanderson, extending his goal streak to six games, and two goals apiece for Mike Regan, Gary Rosyski and Cam Woods. Calgary native Andrew Biers scored one goal for the Stealth. Rob Blasdell earned the win in goal.

Calgary was led by Tracey Kelusky and Kaleb Toth, who scored three goals each. Kyle Goundrey, Lewis Ratcliff and Jason Wulder each scored a pair for the Roughnecks. Matt King was credited the loss in goal. The Roughnecks fall to 4-4, but still maintain third place and the final playoff spot in the West.

San Jose's next game is against Arizona at HP Pavilion on February 28 at 12:30 PM. It is the first home game of the month after a five game road trip. The last time the two teams faced off, Arizona won by a score of 16-13 in the Glendale Arena on Friday, January 30.
