San Jose, Ca. - Goaltender Brandon Miller helped earn the second victory for the San Jose Stealth on Friday night in front of 6,052 fans at HP Pavilion in San Jose. Stellar goaltending by Brandon Miller only allowed two goals on 13 shots.
The Wings had scored four unanswered goals in the third period when San Jose replaced goaltender Rob Blasdell who allowed eight goals on 17 shots.
Philadelphia's Jeff Ratcliffe opened by scoring Friday night with a power play goal at 4:21 in the first period. The Stealth came back with six goals to end the first period with a 6-3 lead.
Only down one goal heading into the fourth quarter, San Jose had four unanswered goals from Dan Teat (four goals), Gary Rosyski (two goals) and Phil Sanderson (one goal).
With 16 seconds left in regulation, the Wings were within one goal when Paul Cantabene received a game misconduct to put the Stealth on a power play for the rest of the game. Dan Teat was the Stealth's star of the game with five goals scored on the evening.
San Jose went 6-11 on power plays, and their penalty kill was 1-7 on the evening.
STEALTH SHOTS: In the last three games, Dan Teat has six goals and one assist for seven points (6-1 =7.) Gary Rosyski has three goals and three assists in the last three games. With tonight's fighting major and face mask penalty, defensemen Jim Moss is second on the team with 16 penalty minutes ....Stealth Captain Cam Woods and Shaydon Santos both had three minor penalties throughout the game for 6 PIM. Healthy scratches for the Stealth were Scott Ranger, Matt Bontaites, Kelly Hall, Ross Johnson, Derek Lowe and Kitan Gdadebo.
