Stealth Acquire Crawford And Pick From Chicago

SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth General Manager Johnny Mouradian announced today that the organization has traded defenseman Cam Woods to the Chicago Shamrox in exchange for forward Callum Crawford and Chicago's first round pick (second overall) in the 2006 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
Crawford was recently selected fifth overall in the 2006 Expansion Draft by Chicago from the Calgary Roughnecks. In his rookie season in 2006, Crawford played in five games with Calgary, registering eight points (four goals, four assists), while scooping 13 loose balls.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound forward is currently playing for the St. Regis Indians of the Ontario Lacrosse Association in the summer. Through 13 games, Crawford ranks fourth on the team with 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists).
"Crawford is a big right-handed kid who we're very excited to add to our roster," said Mouradian. "This move gives us another young player and enables us to get the second-best player in the upcoming entry draft."
Woods has spent the first seven years of his NLL career with the Albany/San Jose franchise, playing every game in franchise history (109), dating back to 2000. The former co-NLL Defenseman of the Year in 2003-04 served as San Jose's captain all three seasons and ranks first in Stealth history in games played (48) and loose balls (314) and ranks second in penalty minutes (96).
In 109 NLL games, Woods has amassed 110 points (40 goals, 70 assists) with 229 penalty minutes and 799 loose balls.
"Cam was the captain of this club and he was very committed to our organization and we'll miss him as a player, role model and friend," said Mouradian. "However, we're happy for him because now he can get back east and be closer to Tricia and their boys."
