Statement Regarding the Edmonton-Calgary game of June 13
Published on June 14, 2006 under Northern League (NL) News Release
Northern League officials are reviewing the actions of players, managers and coaches from both teams in the wake of the bench-clearing incident that ultimately resulted in the forfeit of the game between Edmonton and Calgary at Calgary on June 13.
Northern League Commissioner Jim Weigel, N.L. Vice-President of Operations Garrett Gosselink, and N.L. Supervisor of Umpires Randy Hoback will review videotapes of Tuesday's incident, as well as the reports submitted by the umpires, on Wednesday and Thursday at the Northern League Administrative Offices in Chicago.
The players and other field personnel whose actions wildly exceeded the standards of professionalism and self-control that should be fairly expected from all Northern League personnel will be swiftly and appropriately disciplined.
