
Stars Sign Sequoia Holmes and Courtney Williams to Training Camp Contracts

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Stars today announced that they have signed Sequoia Holmes and Courtney Williams to training camp contracts.
Holmes (G, 5-10, UNLV) has played overseas since 2011, most recently with GD Inter-Clube de Luanda in Angola. She is averaging 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 25.6 minutes. Holmes reached the Angolan Championship Cup three consecutive seasons from 2014 to 2016 and won the Angolan Champions Cup in 2014 and 2016, along with the Angolan Supercup in 2016. She last played in the WNBA in 2010 when she reached the Western Conference Finals with the Phoenix Mercury, where she averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15 games. Holmes began her professional career in 2008 with the Houston Comets averaging 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 11.9 minutes.
Williams (G, 6-1, Texas A&M) played four seasons with the Aggies from 2012-16, where she averaged 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She finished her career ninth in program history in scoring with 1,462 points and was a three-time All-SEC Second Team pick. The Houston native graduated from North Shore High School in 2012, where she was named a McDonald's High School All-American and earned WBCA High School All-American honors.
The Stars will tip off the 2017 season, presented by H-E-B, on the road with back-to-back games May 13 at New York and May 14 at Washington before their home opener vs. Phoenix on May 19 at 7 p.m. CT at the AT&T Center.
