Stars Sign Brittany Hrynko to Training Camp Roster

SAN ANTONIO (May 27, 2015) - The San Antonio Stars signed guard Brittany Hrynko to their training camp roster, head coach and general manager Dan Hughes announced today.

Hughes also announced that guards Davellyn Whyte and Nikki Moody have been waived.

Hrynko, a 5-8 guard out of DePaul University, was originally selected in the second round (19th overall) by the Connecticut Sun in the 2015 WNBA Draft. Hrynko's rights were then traded to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for Jasmine Thomas. The Dream waived Hrynko from their training camp roster on May 19.

Hrynko averaged 19.1 points, 5.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds 29.8 minutes during her senior season with the Blue Demons.

Whyte was originally selected by the Stars in the second round (16th overall) by the Stars in the 2013 WNBA Draft out of the University of Arizona. During her 31-game WNBA career, she averaged 4.2 points and 1.7 assists in 14.3 minutes.

Moody was selected in the third round (33rd overall) by the Stars in the 2015 WNBA Draft out of Iowa State.

The Stars tip off the 2015 season, presented by CHRISTUS Santa Rosa and H-E-B, in Phoenix against the defending champion Phoenix Mercury on June 5 at 9 p.m. The Stars 2015 home opener takes place on June 14 at the Freeman Coliseum against the Tulsa Shock at 3:30 p.m. Ticket plans for the upcoming season are now available.
