The North Stars opened a key three-game series against second-place Janesville with a 4-0 blanking on Friday evening at Centre ICE Arena. Tyler Marble earned the shutout, stopping all 21 shots he faced. Tim Opie, James Albrecht, Sean Murphy and Eric Rivard tallied for Traverse City (25-13-1). The teams will meet again on Saturday evening, with the series finale set for 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
