LINCOLN (3-1-1)

The Stars are in search of their third consecutive win following a weekend sweep of the Sioux Falls Stampede. Lincoln crushed the Herd 6-1 on Friday night at the Ice Box, led by Luke Johnson's two goals. Eleven Stars players collected a point in the victory.

On Saturday night, Jo Lemay's first USHL goal with under four minutes left in regulation helped Lincoln secure two points on the road in South Dakota.

Cameron Whitehead stopped 32 saves on Saturday night, registering his first USHL win. This will be the first time the Stars have faced the Force in 2021-22.

Lincoln lost six of eight games against Fargo last year, including all four at Scheels Arena.

FARGO (2-0-1)

The reigning Western Conference champions recently picked up a 4-3 victory over the Sioux City Musketeers at home thanks to a hat-trick effort from Andre Gasseau. Gasseau leads Fargo with four goals this season.

It's been a near-seamless transition for the Force in the early going of the new season despite some changes in personnel.

Fargo head coach Scott Langer was hired in July of 2021, following 17 years of coaching in the North American Hockey League. Langer racked up 637 wins behind the bench, the most in NAHL history.

He coached alongside Stars head coach Rocky Russo in Sochi, Russia at the Junior Club World Cup in 2019.

LAST WORDS

Stars defenseman Henry Nelson: "I think we just have to play as a team just like we've been doing all year so far. It'll be a fun test and from what the boys were saying, it's a really cool building, so I'm excited."

Stars forward Noah Laba: "I think we're rolling in the right direction. Our team's looking good and we're all playing well. We're just hoping to carry that momentum into this weekend and beat them.

On the road, it's always hard, but you just have to take care of yourself and be in the right mindset. At the end of the day, we're just playing no matter who the crowd's behind."
