
Stars Extend Run with 4-2 Win over Fargo

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (20-20-1-1) extended their point run to seven of nine games with a 4-2 win over the Fargo Force (23-14-3-4) on Friday night at the Ice Box.
The Force opened the scoring at 0:27 of the first period thanks to a goal by forward Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup, giving them a 1-0 lead. Stars center Tristan Ashbrook answered back with two goals in the first period beginning at 7:43 on a backhanded shot followed by a shot in the right circle after a takeaway at 17:36, which gave the Stars a 2-1 lead.
Stars forward Casey Dornbach pushed the home side ahead, 3-1, at 0:18 of the second period on a pass from forward Paul Cotter that found his stick in front of the net. With their goaltender pulled, the Force came within one, 3-2, on Schmidt-Svejstrup's second of the night at 19:24 of the third period. However, Stars forward Josiah Slavin sealed the win with an empty net goal at 19:58, stretching the score to 4-2.
Stars goaltender Tomáš Vomá?ka (14-16-0) stopped 23 of 25 shots in the win, while Force netminder Ryan Bischel (11-7-4) halted 19 of 22 shots in the loss.
