TRAVERSE CITY - Nate Urbaniak had a goal and two assists on Saturday night to lead the Traverse City North Stars to a 4-1 win over visiting Marquette at Centre ICE arena in the first of 12 contests between the teams this season. The Stars had a pair of power play efforts and a shorthanded tally in the victory while holding the Rangers to 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

The win gives TC a 2-0 home mark heading into tomorrows capstone contest, a 1 p.m. matinee.

After Joe Greener registered his fourth goal of the season to open things up, giving the hosts the early advantage a mere 5:34 into the affair. Jameson Raymond and Urbaniak set up the tally. Less than six minutes later, Jonathan Sheridan put home a shorthanded marker for a 2-0 edge as Ben Plocar drew the play's only assists.

After Marquette claimed a power play lamplighter for the only score of the middle period (4:29 in), Urbaniak (5:21) and Sean Burke (:28 remaining) provided third stanza power play efforts to make it a three-goal differential. Raymond and Sabastion Kimmel drew assists on Urbaniak's second of the year, while Chris Heineman provided the balst to Burke's redirection for the final goal. Urbaniak drew a secondary assist.

The teams clash again on Sunday in a rare 1:05 p.m. matinee at Centre ICE.
