Stars Acquire Guard Samantha Logic

SAN ANTONIO (July 5, 2015) - The San Antonio Stars have acquired guard Samantha Logic from the Atlanta Dream in exchange for a 2016 second-round draft pick, head coach and general manager Dan Hughes announced today.

A 5-9 guard out of the University of Iowa, Logic was originally selected by the Atlanta Dream in the first round (10th overall) of the 2015 WNBA Draft. So far this season, Logic has played in four games, averaging 5.8 minutes.

Over her four-year college career with the Hawkeyes, Logic became the first player in NCAA history to record at least 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 800 assists and 200 steals. She finished her career as the NCAA's active assists leader (898). Following her senior season, she was a consensus All-American, averaging 13.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game while leading the Hawkeyes to the Sweet 16.

In a corresponding move, the Stars have waived guard Brittany Hrynko. The DePaul alum played in five games with San Antonio, averaging 3.0 minutes after making the team out of training camp.
