
Stampede win streak hits five

Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Sioux Falls Stampede swept a series of games versus three West Division opponents last weekend and extended their winning streak to five games. On Wednesday, the Stampede defeated the first place Omaha Lancers 7-3 at the Sioux Falls Arena. Justin White tallied two goals while Aleksandrs Jerofejevs, Andreas Nödl, Patrick Mullen, Brandon Harrington and Andrew Carroll all added goals in the win.
On Friday, the Stampede blanked Tri-City in Kearney, NE 4-0. John Murray appearing in his first USHL game, stopped all 24 shots faced and recorded his first career shutout. Brandon Harrington and Tom Gorowsky tallied two goals each. Three of the Stampede's four goals were on the powerplay while the Stampede penalty kill unit stopped all eight Tri-City powerplays.
On Saturday night, the Stampede defeated the Sioux City Musketeers 3-2 in overtime in Sioux City. The Herd jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 29 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal by Ben Holmstrom. Sioux City tied the game in the second before Mullen tallied his second goal of the year to give the Herd a 2-1 lead. Sioux City rallied to tie the game late in the third period to force overtime. In the extra session, Jerofejevs scored on a slap shot from the blueline to give the Herd a 3-2 win.
STRONG GOALTENDING
Greg Barrett was strong between the pipes this weekend stopping 64 of 69 shots in two games and earning victories over Omaha and Sioux City.
FAMILY NIGHT THIS THURSDAY

Minnesota goaltender, Kellen Briggs and Alaska-Anchorage forward, Merit Waldrop were named to the Nye Frontier Classic All-Tournament Team in Anchorage, AK.
