Stampede Travel to Alabama to Face 2013 PIFL Champion Hammers

HARRISBURG, PA (Apr 24, 2014) - Last weekend the Harrisburg Stampede traveled down to Richmond for a divisional battle against the Richmond Raiders. A dominating defensive effort and a stellar offensive performance led to a 48-27 divisional win for the Stampede (2-2). The Stampede will look to ride this momentum into Monday night's game against the defending PIFL Champion Alabama Hammers (0-4).
With a long road trip ahead, the Stampede will look to give the struggling Hammers their 5th consecutive loss to start the season in the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The Stampede defense was led by PIFL defensive player of the Week Amara Kamara (DL), who will look to top his impressive game last week. Kamara tied the all-time PIFL single-game sack record (4) in the win against Richmond.
The Hammers look to get back on track after a disappointing start to the 2014 season. The defending champs have the firepower on both sides of the ball to make a run and get back on track, as they chase the undefeated Nashville Venom (3-0) in the American Division standings.
Matchup to Watch :
Harrisburg Stampede DB Armar Watson has a team high six passes defensed, including 3 interceptions. He has been a ball-hawk so far this season, and has shown the ability to bait opposing QBs into making throws that he can make plays on
Alabama Hammers QB Kevin Huff and Brian Harris have rotated the signal calling duties so far this season. Combined they ranked 2nd in the league in passing attempts, completions, and yards respectively. They've thrown a combined 14 TDs and seven interceptions. These two will have to keep an eye on the playmaking FS for the Stampede this week.
This is the only match up between the Stampede and Hammers this season. The Stampede look to cement their place in the PIFL by defeating the 2013 PIFL Champion Hammers on their way to a second consecutive victory.
Kickoff is set for Monday April 28th 8:00pm EST at Von Braun Center, Huntsville, AL.
