Stampede Sees End of Off-Season

San Angelo Stampede Express News Release


The San Angelo Stampede Express of the Intense Football League is entering the home stretch of the 2006 off-season. With less than 80 days until kick-off, the team's attention turns to the most important part of the off-season, building the team. The Stampede Express is proud to announce the signing of 4 more players for the 2006 season.

The first player will be familiar to San Angelo's fans. Jesse Shields returns for his second season with the team. Jesse is a 6'4" 220 lb. wide receiver/defensive back. He played his college ball at Grambling State University. Last season Jesse wore lucky number 7, and was voted Runner-up as Favorite Stampede Football Player in the Standard-Times 2005 Readers' Choice Awards.

Jesse will be joined by 3 newcomers in 2006. The first of the newcomers is 6'1" 210 lb. quarterback Matt Jordon. Followers of the Angelo State University football team will remember Matt from his college days at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. The team also found Matt two more targets in Rashad Lee and Chris Isedore. Rashad Lee is a 5'11" 180 lb. wide receiver/defensive back. He played his college ball at Tyler Orr. Chris Isedore is also a wide receiver/defensive back. The 6'0" 196 lb. Isedore played his college ball at San Diego Mesa College in San Diego, California.

The Stampede Express will begin their 3rd season with an exhibition game in Odessa on April 22, 2006. The first of 7 action packed home games at the San Angelo Coliseum will be against the CenTex Barracudas on April 29. Season tickets are currently available at the Stampede Express offices located at the San Angelo Convention Center or by calling 947-DOWN (3696) or 653-9577. Stampede Express Football...
