LaROSE RECORDS FIRST EVER
TWO-GOAL GAME-
Former Stampede forward Chad LaRose recorded his first career two-goal game for the Carolina
Hurricanes in their 7-2 win over New Jersey Saturday night.
LaRose was switched from right wing to center for the first time since joining the Hurricanes and had just four career goals in 119 games prior to his pair of goals Saturday.
"The last time I played (center) was squirts," said Larose, the second-year player said. "It didn't matter where I played. I wanted the minutes."
Carolina coach Peter Laviolette told LaRose on Friday that he wanted him to be a responsible player in the middle.
"He came in and provided a spark with his skating and his tenacity," Laviolette said.
LaRose now has 17 points (5g, 12a) in 71 games this season. The defending Stanley Cup champions are 36-29-8 on the season and currently in 7th place in the Eastern Conference.
