Stampede Return Home Sunday Night

After another five-game road trip, the Stampede (28-13-11) return home to the Sioux Falls Arena this Sunday night at 6 PM face the Des Moines Buccaneers! The Stampede earned a weekend split the Bucs last Friday and Saturday night in Des Moines. On Friday, Jamie Oleksiak's goal with 2:34 in regulation lifted the Stampede to a 3-2 victory over the Bucs. On Saturday, the Buccaneers rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Stampede 5-4.

Prior to Sunday's home game, the Stampede will travel to Omaha to face the Lancers for the final time during the regular season. Game time at the Omaha Civic Auditorium is 7:05 PM.

Stampede Clinch Playoff Berth!

With Friday's 3-2 victory over Des Moines, the Stampede clinched their fifth consecutive trip to the Clark Cup Playoffs! The Herd have not missed the playoffs under head coach Kevin Hartzell who is in his fifth season behind the bench.

The top four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs with the top two seeds in each division receiving home-ice advantage in the first round.

The Stampede are currently 28-13-11 on the season and in third place in the West Division, six points behind second place Lincoln with eight games remaining in the regular season.

STAMPEDE FAMILY NIGHT THIS SUNDAY

The final Stampede Family Night takes place this Sunday when the Herd entertain Des Moines at 6 PM at the Sioux Falls Arena.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR STAMPEDE BUS TRIP TO OMAHA IS TUESDAY!

Only 1 day remains to register for the Stampede bus trip to Omaha this Saturday night! The bus will depart Saturday afternoon at 3 PM from the Applebee's Empire East location and return immediately following the game. "TIP A STAMPEDE" SET FOR MARCH 23RD

The 11th annual "Tip-A-Stampede" night is set for Tuesday, March 23rd at both Sioux Falls Applebee's locations! The event will take place from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Empire East location as well as on East 10th Street!

Stampede players will be on hand at each location to wait on tables and collect tips throughout the night. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Stampede memorabilia will be raffled off at each location and prizes awarded to the events top five tippers! Join us next Tuesday at both Sioux Falls Applebee's locations!

Jakob L. Beier Scholarship Deadline Approaching

For the fifth straight season the Stampede will be awarding two (2) scholarships in part of the Jakob L. Beier Scholarship Award for Courage. This award annually provides a $500 scholarship to one female and one male "senior" playing high school hockey in the state of South Dakota.

The deadline for this award is March 24th.

Vermeulen leads St. Lawrence to ECAC Final Four

Former Stampede forward Travis Vermeulen and the St. Lawrence Saints have advanced to the ECAC Final Four after sweeping Colgate over the weekend.

Vermeulen, a senior captain, leads the Saints in scoring with 41 points (17g, 24a) in 40 games this season. The Saints will face Union College at 6 PM on Friday. The winner will face the winner of the Brown/Cornell game in the ECAC Championship. The champion receives an automatic bid into the 16-team NCAA tournament.
