Stampede Kick off Training Camp

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede will officially kick off training camp this afternoon when they hit the ice at the Sioux Falls Ice & Recreation Center at 2 PM. The team will also practice at 2 PM tomorrow.

The players arrived in Sioux Falls on Sunday and participated in a video session with the coaching staff yesterday as well as team photos and physicals. The Stampede return nine players from last year's squad. In all, 27 players are vying for 25 positions on the roster for the upcoming 2010-11 season. All USHL teams must trim their rosters to 25 players at the end of September.

The Stampede's first pre-season game is next Friday, September 17th in Brookings against Sioux City at 7:05 PM. The Herd will then travel to Luverne on Saturday, September 18th when they face the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 PM. Ticket information for both pre-season games will be made available soon.

The Stampede open the regular season in Sioux City on Friday, October 2nd. The Herd's home opener is set for Friday, October 15th at 7:05 PM against the U.S. Under-18 Development Team.
