Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce the first ever Stampede Scramble, presented by Manny Bassey and Allstate Insurance. The scramble will be held at Elmwood Golf Course on Saturday, August 13th beginning with a shotgun start at 2 PM, followed by a banquet and free meal at 7 PM. Registration for the tournament is $240 per foursome and $220 for Stampede season ticket holders.

Proceeds from the registration along with raffle prizes will benefit former intern and off-ice official, Dakota Case. Dakota was born with truncus arteriosus, a very rare heart defect, and has been on the heart transplant list since December 2014. On May 31, 2015 he suddenly developed severe pneumonia and heart failure and spent several months at Nebraska Medical Center. He was able to return home to Sioux Falls this past winter, attended a few Stampede games and even joined the team as an off-ice official. Dakota is also a talented writer who frequently writes about the Minnesota Wild on the website hockeywilderness.com.

Dakota returned to the Nebraska Medical Center in April and has been there for over 60 days and just recently underwent a successful heart transplant. Funds from the golf scramble will help cover medical expenses as well as travel for his Mom, Jennifer, and Dad, Chuck, who have been commuting between Omaha and Sioux Falls.

Fans wishing to attend the banquet without participating in the golf tournament can register for $10, which includes a meal and entry into a prize raffle. Registration for the tournament and banquet is due by Monday, August 1st.

To register for the Stampede Golf Scramble, or to sponsor a hole during the tournament, call 605-336-6060 or visit the Stampede office (1001 N. West Ave.).
