How do you know football season is here? Is it the first tailgate party? Maybe it's the first game? Some people think the season doesn't start until the first point is scored. For the San Angelo Stampede Express of the Intense Football League the answer is simple, football season starts with training camp, when the sound of cracking helmets echo off the Coliseum roof.
Training Camp will kick-off with meetings on Friday night, April the 7th. The workouts will begin Saturday morning, April 8th, with some conditioning drills, the first workout on the field will begin at approximately 10:30 am. Workouts will be held at the San Angelo Coliseum and at San Angelo Stadium. If you are interested in attending the training camp as a player, please contact the office for further questions. Workouts are open to the public. The Stampede Express has invited around 35 players to participate in camp. 25 players will make the team roster with 19 dressing per game.
The Stampede Express opens their third season in an exhibition game at Odessa on April 22nd. The regular season and home opener is the following Saturday, April 29th against the CenTex Barracudas.
