Stampede Express Look to Germany

December 22, 2006 - Intense Football League (Intense)
San Angelo Stampede Express News Release

The search is finally over for the Stampede Express as a new head coaching staff has been put in place. Head coach James Germany and Assistant coach Michael S. Patterson will both be boarding the express train for the 2007 season.

James Germany is a graduate of San Jose State where he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration. Germany has an impressive playing resume as he has played for Saskachawan, New York Giants, Houston Oilers and even for the Dallas Cowboys. Germany's coaching career extends from the college ranks to the NAFL and all the way up to the AFL 2 where he coached for the Oklahoma Crude in 2004. "Coach Germany has some great college connections as well as arena and NFL connections which will allow coach to bring quality players into San Angelo," states co-owner Darlene Jones.

Standing along side Coach Germany this season will be Michael S. Patterson also known as "Big Mike". Coach Patterson attended the University of Washington and Livingston College. Patterson's playing career consists of making training camp for the San Diego Chargers in 2000, the Green Bay Packers in 2001 and the Los Angeles Avengers in 2002. Patterson played for the Beaumont Drillers of the NIFL in 2003 and the Laredo Law of Arena II in 2004. Patterson is no stranger to the coaching side of the game either as he was Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Oklahoma Crude in 2004 and the Offensive Coordinator and the Offensive Line Coach for the Houston Sharks in 2005-06. Patterson also did an internship in 2006 for the Houston Texans during training camp.

The Stampede Express will begin their 4th season, with the first home game being April 28th against Frisco at the San Angelo Coliseum. Season tickets are available at the Stampede Express offices located at the San Angelo Convention Center or by calling 947-DOWN (3696) or 653-9577.
