Clay Witt stopped 17 shots in goal.

This Friday, the Stampede play host to the Lincoln Stars for the first time this season. The Stars are off to a 4-5-0 start and are coming off a 3-1 win at Cedar Rapids. Tucker Brockett leads the team in scoring with seven points (4g, 3a) in seven games.

On Saturday, the Herd host the Sioux City Musketeers for the first time this season. The Stampede defeated the Muskies 3-1 on October 10th in Sioux City. The Musketeers are 3-4-0 on the year and coming off a 4-1 loss to Omaha on Saturday.

Celebrate Halloween with the Herd

Spend your Halloween this Saturday with the Stampede! Cheer on the Herd as they take on I-29 rival Sioux City at 7:05 PM!

KELO-FM Radio and Sunshine Foods are teaming up with the Herd for all kinds of Halloween fun and treats! Fans (youth and adult) are encouraged to dress in their best looking or scariest costume. Prior to the start of the game, check yourself in at the KELO-FM judging table that will be set up inside the arena front lobby starting at 6:15 PM. The top five costumes will be brought on to the arena ice and voted upon by the arena audience!

The Stampede will also be looking for kids (ages 5-10) to participate in the Sunshine Foods "Candy Dash" in between periods. To be eligible for either Halloween contest, fans must register at the KELO-FM Radio table in the arena front lobby between 6:15-7:00 PM.

Tropp Leads NCAA in Scoring

Former Stampede forward Corey Tropp (2005-07) leads the nation in scoring with 12 points (6g, 6a) in six games for the Michigan State Spartans. Tropp posted a goal and an assist Saturday night to help lead the Spartans to a 3-2 overtime victory over top ranked Miami (Ohio).

Tropp is an assistant captain this season with the Spartans and has recorded at least one point in each of their first six games. The Spartans (4-2-0) continue CCHA play this weekend with a home-and-home series with Western Michigan and former Herd forward Dane Walters (2007-09). The Broncos are off to a 4-0-0 start. Jack Connolly (2007-08) of Minnesota-Duluth is tied for second in college hockey scoring with 10 points (4g, 6a) in six games.

Sexton Shines in Bakersfield

In just five games, Dan Sexton had tallied seven points (3g, 4a) for the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL. His seven points rank second amongst ECHL rookies. The Condors are the "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks. Sexton signed a professional contract this past summer with Anaheim.

Prior to signing, Sexton spent two seasons at Bowling Green State University where he accumulated 60 points (24g, 36a) in 76 career games. Sexton led the team in scoring last season with 39 points.

Sexton was part of the Stampede's Clark Cup Championship team in 2007. He had a breakout performance in the playoff, recording a USHL best eight goals and one assist and was a plus-9 in eight games.
