St. Louis Flight News Release
(St. Lous, MO) -- A very dangerous team in the American Basketball Association is playing at the Family Arena tonight. After losing 13 of their first 18 games, the St. Louis Flight have won five of their last nine games including a 46 point win on Tuesday. Coach Cliff Levingston's first year franchise (10-17) still has an outside chance at a playoff spot with just five games remaining in their inaugural season.
The Cincinnati Monarchs visit Family Arena for a 7:05 start. St. Louis won both previous meetings between the Central Division rivals. Six Flight players are averaging better than ten points per game, with Cedric Moodie leading the way with 16.5 scoring average. He scored 31 points in last week's win over the Monarchs. Tulsa University product David Shelton is averaging over 30 points per game for Cincinnati.
General Manager Larry Striklin has announced a price reduction for tickets to the Flight home games. The team has gone to a general admission seating policy. All tickets are $10 and fans can sit anywhere in the building for that price. Groups of ten or more can purchase tickets on a two for one basis.
Tonight's game can be heard on AM 1490 (WESL). Harry Schroeder and St. Louis American sports writer Maurice Scott provide the in game descriptions. For ticket information or directions contact the Family Arena at 638-896-4242 or order on line at www.metrotix.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
