St. Louis Ambush Name Jeff Locker General Manager
St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Ambush have begun their offseason preparations, starting with the announcement of a restructured front office. When the 2019-20 season ended on March 12 throughout the Major Arena Soccer League due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Clark and Locker went to work setting the stage for the future of the organization.
The staff restructuring is the next step that commenced with a change in the ownership group in December when Jeff Locker became co-owner, along with existing majority owner and CEO Shelly Clark. At that time, and with the season well underway, Clark and Locker agreed that all staff roles would remain intact for the duration of the season.
Now as the team prepares for the next season, Locker will assume the role of General Manager, which will manage team and player items and oversee the sales department. Clark will continue to serve as CEO, which includes day to day operations, game day operations, and some team and player related items.
In addition to Clark and Locker's new roles, the Ambush will be creating and staffing the following roles in the near future: * Chief Communications & Community Relations Officer * Director of Partner & Fan Experience * Strategic Communications Coordinator * Public Relations Specialist * Sales Executives
Clark said, "Jeff and I have worked collaboratively to identify our own strengths and weaknesses along with those within the organization. We are restructuring from the top down. We believe that the changes that we are making will focus and leverage everyone's strengths, the end goal is to build a solid foundation in the off season that will lead to more success in future seasons."
She added that the organization's primary goals remain the same; to provide a family friendly and affordable entertainment option to the community. "I've raised my kids here; Jeff is raising his here and we are invested in this community and its families." Clark concluded.
Locker welcomed his new role saying, "I'm excited to expand my role with this great organization as we continue to make the Ambush one of the top teams in the MASL."
Like all professional sports throughout the country, the MASL is waiting out the current crisis, with an eye on kicking off the 2020-21 season in the fall.
