St. Louis Ambush News Release

St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Ambush (4-7) pay their first visit to Pennsylvania to square off with the Roar (0-11) Sunday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. CT at Santander Arena in Reading. It will be the second meeting between the Major Indoor Soccer League's two expansion clubs for the 2013-14 season. In their first encounter, the Ambush won their home opener by defeating the Roar 17-4 on November 22 at the Family Arena.

The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, will be looking to bounce back from a 14-2 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Blast Friday night. In Pennsylvania's last game, they fell to the Missouri Comets in a 13-5 contest.

The Ambush will be looking to their top scorers, Odaine Sinclair (26 points), Mike Roach, Kory Dowell (17 points each) and Dan Antoniuk (16 points) to get the team back on track after their offense was held to one goal in their duel with the Blast. That goal came from newcomer Brandon Manzonelli, who played in his first MISL game Friday night. St. Louis will try to stop the Roar's offense with the help of defenders Chad Vandegriffe and Mike Mesle, who lead the league in blocks with 21 and 20, respectively. The last line of defense for the Ambush is veteran goalkeeper Jeff Richey, who has a 14.59 points against average and .713 save percentage.

Pennsylvania's offense is led by forward JerJer Gibson (12 points) and defender Corey Maret (10 points). Peter Pappas is the Roar's veteran goalkeeper, who has a 15.32 points against average and .691 save percentage.

Following Sunday's battle in Reading, the Ambush have back-to-back road games next weekend. On Friday, January 24, the Ambush journey across the state to clash with the Missouri Comets at the Independence Events Center at 7:35 p.m. CT, then head to Milwaukee to tangle with the Wave on Saturday, January 25 at 6:00 p.m. CT. The squad returns home to host the Wave on Saturday, February 1 at 1:35 p.m. at the Family Arena.
