Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - With just about two months to go until Opening Day, the SwampDogs continue to add to their roster with the signing of left-handed pitcher Dalton Brown from St. Edward's University (Texas).
In five starts for the Hilltoppers in 2014, Brown has been nothing short of spectacular, posting a 4-0 record and a 1.93 ERA for the 19th-ranked pitching staff in all of Division II. He has struck out 28 batters in 28 innings pitched, held opposing batters to a .206 batting average, and posted a 1.25 WHIP.
Brown, a junior, transferred to St. Edward's after spending his first two collegiate seasons pitching at Howard College in his home state of Texas, helping lead the team to the regional tournament both years.
"We are excited to have Dalton on board," said SwampDogs head coach David Tufo. "He brings added left-handed depth to the pitching rotation and is a great competitor."
The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, entering their 14th season in the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league.
