Orange County Flyers News Release
Well, we have learned that we cannot stop time, so we have decided to accept the fact that we are just 9 days from Spring Training, 21 days from our season opener in Chico, and just 34 days from Opening Night at Goodwin Field! We have had tremendous success recently with group sales, sponsorship sales, and tickets, and are really ramping up to meet all of our pre-season goals.
Here is the latest update...
National Anthem Auditions - Presented by Mercury Insurance - this Saturday (tomorrow) at the Brea Mall. If you are interested in auditioning, call Pam Bryant TODAY at 714-526-8326. If you don't get in touch with Pam, ask for Shawna. Even if you don't want to sing, come out between 11 - 3 to support those courageous people that give it a shot! And, remember that Sunday is Mother's Day, so you might as well come to the mall, anyway! We will be set up on the lower level, in La Lune Court, right by JC Penny, and down the hall from Nordstrom.
Spring Training...
Here is our tentative schedule of games, all to be held on the campus of Fullerton Community College. All game times will be announced next week, but they will be around noon or 1 PM. All Spring Training games are free to the public.

GOLD CIRCLE EVENT
May 31 - 5 PM at the Brea Improv. Invitations will be going out in the mail early next week. Meet the team; pick up your season tickets; buy season seats, single game seats, etc. Eat great food - and then stick around for a great comedy show, courtesy of the Brea Improv!
POSITIONS OPEN
We are still working on filling our Athletic Trainer and Clubhouse Manager positions. Both positions begin on May 21. The Trainer will travel with the team all summer, and the Clubby will work all home games. We also have several game day positions open, as well. Ticket Takers, Ushers, Concessions, etc. Please call Ed Hart or Mike Lopez to set up an interview.
PHONES 4 LIFE
Yesterday we signed a deal with Phones 4 Life (www.phones4life.org). If you have any old cell phones that you are no longer using, please donate them to the Flyers and will give them to Phones 4 Life. These phones are then recharged with Emergency 911 minutes so that impoverished people, disaster victims, etc., can all have phones in the event of an emergency. This is an amazing cause, and this organization is blessing the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year. We are honored to be on board with them. For every phone you donate either through the Flyers or the Long Beach Armada, you will receive a free Flyers (or Armada) t-shirt with the Phones 4 Life log on the back. We are seeking additional phone deposit locations, as well, so if you and your business would like to be involved in this cause, please call Shawna Murphy at the Flyers offices to set this up!
HOST FAMILIES FOR SPRING TRAINING
We could still use a few more host families for Spring Training - just May 20 - May 31. We will give you two free 20 game plans for hosting a player during these 10 days. Please call Ed Hart or Pam Bryant to discuss this great opportunity!
GREAT, CREATIVE SPONSORSHIPS
We still have few fun, creative sponsorship opportunities available. A great way to promote your business. Outfield wall signs, program ads for as little as $200, on field promotions, radio commercials, etc. Call Jordan Moore at 714-526-8326 x 204 to discuss! We will also include your business in our business-to-business directory - you will get a full page, and this will be distributed to all fans on opening night. Excellent exposure.
We appreciate your support of the 2006 Fullerton Flyers, and look forward to seeing you at Goodwin Field on June 15! Call today, or go on line, to get your tickets for opening night. This will be a night you WILL NOT WANT TO MISS!!
