
Sports take fifth straight

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports defeated Jackson 5-2 at Fair Grounds Field Friday to extend their winning streak to five games, the longest this season. The Sports Chad Gambill had two hits, extending his hitting streak to 16 games, the second longest in the Sports three year history.
After Jackson took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, Shreveport took advantage of a Jackson error in the fifth and scored two unearned runs to tie the game at 2-2.
The Sports put three runs on the board in the fifth inning with RBI's by Hector Lebron, Chad Gambill and Jason Torres.
Bert Snow pitched seven innings to even his record at 6-6 while Carl Makowsky retired Jackson in order in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season.
Shreveport and Jackson will close out the four-game series Saturday night. Game time 7:05.
