The Shreveport Sports pounded out a season high 16 hits in an 11-2 win over Pensacola Sunday at Fair Grounds Field. The 11 runs scored by the Sports were the most they have scored in one game this season.

The victory for Shreveport gave them the series win over the Pelicans and for the third time this season matched their longest winning streak of the year at two games.

Jason Torres led the 16-hit attack with four hits while Mick Kurhan had three hits. Enohel Polanco hit his first home run of the season and Chad Gambill connected on his fifth of the year. It was also the first time this year the Sports had hit more than one home run in a game.

Shreveport starter Bert Snow pitched eight innings and scattered four hits in picking up his third win of the season.

The Sports will have an off day Monday before opening up a three-game series at Fair Grounds Field Tuesday with El Paso.
