Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports defeated Ft. Worth 6-3 Wednesday night at Fair Grounds Field. It was only the second win in 11 games for the Sports over the Cats this season.
The Sports took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a towering home run by Chad Gambill over the center field fence. It was Gambill's tenth home run of the season. Shreveport added two more runs in the seventh to increase their lead to 3-0. However, Ft. Worth tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run home run by Jason Radwan.
Shreveport answered with the deciding three runs in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI double by Gambill and Jason Torres drove in the other two runs with a single.
Shreveport and Ft. Worth will close out the four-game series Thursday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time 7:05.
