SPORTING KC HOSTS HOUSTON TONIGHT IN SEMIFINALS

Sporting Kansas City hosts the Houston Dynamo at 8 p.m. CT tonight at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in the decisive second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs. Standing-room only tickets for the match are on sale and a limited number of seats are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices."¨

The match, sponsored by Budweiser, will be broadcast locally on KSMO-TV with Callum Williams and Jake Yadrich on air beginning at 7 p.m. CT from LSP. The game will also be streamed online at MLSSoccer.com.

Sports Radio 810 WHB will carry the match and will go live from the LSP Members' Club with Todd Leabo and Nate Bukaty from 2-6 p.m. CT during Between the Lines with Kevin Kietzman. The official radio home of Sporting Kansas City, the station will dedicate four hours of coverage for the Conference Semifinal starting at 7:00 p.m. CT and concluding with The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame show.

Spanish listeners can tune in to La Gran D 1340 AM for live coverage on Wednesday night.

The mid-week match-up comes three days after Houston prevailed 2-0 in the opening leg on Sunday at BBVA Compass Stadium with goals from Adam Moffat and Will Bruin. The victory sees the Dynamo enter Wednesday's rematch with a two-goal advantage in the two-game, aggregate goal series.

SPORTING KC TO TAPE MESSAGES FROM FANS IN LOT F TONIGHT

Sporting Kansas City will invite fans to record messages showcasing their support from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. CT tonight at the Sporting KC tent in Lot F, directly across from the Sprint Gate. Selected participants will be chosen to appear in a commercial for the 2013 season.

SPORTS RADIO 810 WHB GOES LIVE FROM LSP TODAY

Sports Radio 810 WHB, America's largest all-sports radio station and Kansas City's ESPN Radio affiliate, will carry tonight's match and will go live from the LSP Members' Club with Todd Leabo and Nate Bukaty from 2-6 p.m. CT during Between the Lines with Kevin Kietzman. Guests will include Matt Besler, Robb Heineman and Callum Williams.

The official radio home of Sporting Kansas City, the station will dedicate four hours of coverage for the Conference Semifinal starting at 7:00 p.m. CT and concluding with The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame show. JIMMY NIELSEN UP FOR 2012 SAVE OF THE YEAR

Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen is a nominee for MLSSoccer.com's 2012 Save of the Year. The voting process is conducted online here as 32 nominees are unveiled in eight groups of four. Nielsen, a 2012 MLS All-Star, is a nominee in Groups 1, 2 and 3. Voting for Group 3 is open through 11:59 PT on Thursday.

Voting schedule: Groups 1 & 2 (Nov 5-6), Groups 3 & 4 (Nov 7-8), Groups 5 & 6 (Nov 9-10), Groups 7 & 8 (Nov 11-12)

Nielsen led Major League Soccer with 15 shutouts and 18 victories in 2012 and was a six-time recipient of MLS Save of the Week this season. The winner of this season's Save of the Year will be announced on Nov. 29.

PETERSON AND CESAR UP FOR AT&T GOAL OF THE YEAR

Sporting Kansas City players Jacob Peterson and Julio Cesar are among 64 nominees for the 2012 AT&T Goal of the Year. Peterson's strike against Philadelphia in a 2-1 win on Oct. 24 is nominated in Group 14, while Cesar's volley in a victory over Toronto FC on June 16 is up for vote in Group 15.

Voting is open for Peterson and Cesar until 9:59 p.m. CT tonight. The second round of voting will then occur from Nov. 9-12 with the 32 remaining goals broken into eight groups of four. This season's AT&T Goal of the Year will be announced on Nov. 29.

KYLE MILLER SUFFERS STRESS FRACTURE IN LEFT FOOT

Sporting Kansas City defender Kyle Miller suffered a stress fracture in his left foot during training last Friday and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2012 season."¨"¨Miller, 23, has appeared in three MLS Reserve League matches this season for Sporting KC and played in the team's 2-0 exhibition win over his alma mater Rockhurst University. He also earned minutes in three pre-season matches, debuting in a 5-1 win over FC Tucson and scoring in a 4-1 win over the United States Under-17 National Team in Orlando, Fla.

SPORTING KC ANNOUNCES 2013 PRE-SEASON DESTINATIONS

Sporting Kansas City will travel to Tucson, Ariz. and Orlando, Fla. for the team's 2013 pre-season, the club announced last week. The team will arrive in Tucson on Jan. 20 for a two-week stay and will participate in The Desert Friendlies presented by FC Tucson against other MLS competition at the Kino Sports Complex. The matches will be open to the public with tickets to go on sale later this month. Visit FCTucson.com for more information. The upcoming pre-season will mark the third straight year that Sporting Kansas City has selected Tucson as a pre-season site.

After returning home to Kansas City on Feb. 2, the club will depart for the second leg of the 2013 pre-season in Orlando on Feb. 7. Sporting Kansas City will be one of several MLS teams once again competing in the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from Feb. 9-23. Sporting Kansas City defenders Chance Myers and Aurelien Collin will team up with MLS W.O.R.K.S. for Soccer Kicks Cancer's Movember 2012 Campaign. Movember is a mustache-growing campaign that raises funds and awareness for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. Myers and Collin began growing their mustaches on Nov. 1 and invite fans to join them in their hairy quest.

Myers and Collin's mustaches will be documented on social media and the blog throughout the month-long campaign and fans are encouraged to Tweet/Facebook pictures of their mustache to Sporting KC.

All 19 clubs in the MLS will be represented in the campaign and MLS W.O.R.K.S. will match funds raised by the highest individual fundraiser in the MLS Network (individual person, not team). The funds raised support prostate cancer and testicular cancer initiatives. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and their men's health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the LIVESTRONG Foundation.

SPORTING KC ACADEMY UNDER-18'S IN 1ST PLACE IN CONFERENCE

Sporting Kansas City's U-18 Academy side remains in first place in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Frontier Division after winning six of their first seven matches this season. Forward Eduardo Moreno leads the team in goals with eight and defender Erik Palmer-Brown was recently invited to participate in the 1996-97 Academy Select Game at the 2012 Winter Showcase in Bradenton, Fla.

The U-18s will face Solar Chelsea at the Indian Springs Complex in Oklahoma at 1 pm. CT this Saturday.

SPORTING KC STARS TO FLIP SWITCH AT PLAZA LIGHTING EVENT

Sporting Kansas City players Matt Besler, Kei Kamara and Jimmy Nielsen will "Flip the Switch" as honored guests at the Plaza Lighting Ceremony. 41 Action News Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak will host the ceremony, which will feature a performance by The Elders, followed by a free hour-long concert from The Elders immediately after the ceremony ends.

The ceremony is held on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 22nd, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. CT at a new location on Country Club Plaza. The ceremony main stage has been moved to a brand new location on Nichols Road and Pennsylvania, near Brio Tuscan Grille and Burberry. The stage will be located on Nichols Road, just west of Pennsylvania, and will face east. The new location features a larger gathering area that will allow for more people to have great views of the ceremony's exciting onstage entertainment and the Flip of the Switch.
