Spokane Empire News Release
SPOKANE, Washington - The Spokane IFL franchise has signed defensive lineman Dominique Duster and offensive lineman Dave Lefotu to the 2016 roster.
Duster (DL, 6-0, 300, North Alabama) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the IFL after spending 2015 as a part of the AFL's Spokane franchise. Duster was signed by the Shock after attending the team's open tryout at Georgia State in Atlanta. He would spend most the season on the injured reserve list before seeing action in three contests and recording 4.5 total tackles. During his collegiate career as Lion, Duster saw action in 34 games on his way to registering 94 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. He played his prep career at Florence High School in Florence, Alabama.
Lefotu (OL, 6-2, 330, Hawaii) joins the Empire for his rookie season as a member of the IFL in 2016. During his collegiate career at Hawaii, Lefotu started 39 contests and was a part of the 2010 WAC Conference Championship team. He played his prep career at Pearl City High School in Pearl City, O'ahu, Hawaii.
"Late in the recruiting battle we feel like Dominique and Dave have given us a huge boost on our front lines," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "While Dominique played for Spokane last year in the AFL, I feel his ability to be a run stopper suits the IFL much better. Dave is an aggressive and touch offensive lineman who can play any of the three spots up front."
