
Spitfires Lose in London 4-3

The Spitfires were in London for a tough matchup vs the Knights who have had their number all season long.
In the first period, the game was tightly controlled by both teams. The Spitfires were able to score first just over 12 minutes in. A Woodall shot from the point deflected into the net by a Knights' player. The Spitfires were outshot 10-7 but kept the Knights scoreless through 20.
In the second period, it was a different story. The Knights would score 3 goals in the first 5:37 to take a 3-1 lead. Just over a minute later, the Spitfires responded. Abraham from a bad angle found the back of the net for his 31st. After 40 it was 3-2 London and they led 28-13 in shots.
In the third period, the Spitfires would tie the game at 3 quickly. Struthers deflected in a shot from Winegard, Morneau had the 2nd assist. The Knights would go ahead with 12:23 to play in period 3 with a powerplay goal. The Spitfires would apply pressure and could not find the equalizer and fell to the Knights 4-3.
The Spitfires are back in action for the final regular season game tomorrow in Saginaw. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.
