
Rangers Drop Their Last Regular Season Home Game to Oshawa

Oshawa won their 11th consecutive game 2-1 in overtime over the Rangers. The only other goals came in the first 3:56 of the contest being followed by 56:04 of shutout hockey. With the win, Oshawa secured first place in the Eastern Conference and tied the season series with Kitchener at one. The Rangers have gone 8-3 in overtime this season with today's loss. Carson Rehkopf and Adrian Misaljevic extended their point streaks to four games each with assists on Matthew Sop's goal.

Oshawa came out strong scoring 83 seconds in as Connor Lockhart cut into the Rangers' zone and scored. Lockhart received the puck from Rasmus Kumpulainen at the Kitchener blueline before cutting down and scoring five-hole from between the faceoff circles.

Matthew Sop tied the game up shortly after Oshawa's opening goal, burying his own rebound. Carson Rehkopf received the puck in the slot from Adrian Misaljevic before attempting to put it on the net. Luca D'Amato got his stick on the puck causing Rehkopf's shot to bounce out to Sop who fired it on a sprawling Jacob Oster. Oster made the stop, but the rebound came back to Sop who put it over the pad this time and into the net.

Oshawa won the faceoff at the start of overtime and skated around their own end, planning the attack. Luca Marrelli dropped the puck back to Connor Lockhart who skated full speed through the neutral zone before cutting down to the glove side faceoff circle before firing it low glove and behind Jackson Parsons.

Jacob Oster got the win in net for Oshawa improving his season record to 34-16-7-1. He made 23 stops on 24 shots giving up only one goal in the first period. Jackson Parsons made 34 stops on 36 shots in the overtime loss. His record moves to 27-18-2-0 on the season.
