
SPHL Suspends Pair of Players

CHARLOTTE, NC - The SPHL today announced two players have been suspended for incidents in games this past weekend.
Augusta forward Aaron McGill has been suspended one game for his actions in the RiverHawks' game against Mississippi on Saturday, December 18.
At 1:24 of the third period, McGill delivered a blow to the head of a Mississippi player, causing injury. For his actions, McGill was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing.
McGill will miss Augusta's game vs. Columbus on Thursday, December 23.
Columbus defenseman Jeff MacPhee has been suspended one game for his actions in the Cottonmouths' game against Fayetteville on Saturday, December 18.
At 7:01 of the second period, MacPhee was assessed a match penalty for head-butting a Fayetteville player during an altercation.
MacPhee will miss Columbus' game vs. Augusta on Thursday, December 23.
