
SPHL President Combs Signed Through 2017-2018 Season

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (August 14, 2014) - The Southern Professional Hockey League today announced the league's Board of Governors has unanimously extended the contract of President Jim Combs through the 2017-2018 season.
"Since 2007, Jim has continued to increase the visibility and reputation of the SPHL throughout the hockey world," stated Chairman of the Board Tim Kerr. "His exemplary leadership has resulted in new expansion opportunities and corporate partnerships for the league, all the while maintaining the business model that has proven to be successful for our member teams."
The Southern Professional Hockey League, which will begin its 11th season of play in October, is comprised of eleven members:
Bloomington (IL) Thunder*, Columbus (GA) Cottonmouths, Fayetteville (NC) FireAntz, Huntsville (AL) Havoc, Knoxville (TN) Ice Bears, (Lafayette) Louisiana IceGators; Macon (GA) Mayhem*; (Southaven) Mississippi RiverKings; (Biloxi) Mississippi Surge*, Pensacola (FL) Ice Flyers and Peoria (IL) Rivermen
