
SPHL Announces Suspensions

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Tuesday announced the following suspensions:
Pensacola's Cory Melkert
Pensacola's Cory Melkert has been suspended two games as a result of his actions during SPHL Game 47, Quad City at Pensacola, played on Saturday, November 17.
Melkert was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking at 19:49 of the third pe- riod.
Melkert will miss Pensacola's games against Macon (November 21) and Quad City (November 23).
Evansville's Nick Wright
Evansville's Nick Wright has been suspended two games as a result of his actions during SPHL Game 44, Peoria at Evansville, played on Saturday, November 17.
Wright was assessed a major penalty for fighting and an aggressor game misconduct at 14:47 of the third period.
Wright will miss Evansville's games against Birmingham (November 21) and Peoria (November 23).
Roanoke's Eric Witzel
Roanoke's Eric Witzel has been suspended one game as a result of his actions during SPHL Game 45, Roanoke at Fayetteville, played on Saturday, November 17.
Witzel was assessed a minor penalty for boarding at 17:09 of the first period.
Witzel will miss Roanoke's game against Fayetteville on Thursday, November 22.
