
Birmingham's Josh Harris Named Warrior Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Josh Harris of the Birmingham Bulls is the Warrior Player of the Week for November 12-18.
Harris scored two goals, including one game-winner, and added three assists as the Bulls moved to a perfect 9-0, establishing a new SPHL-Ërecord for consecutive wins at the start of a season.
On Thursday, Harris scored one goal and assisted on the eventual game-winner early in the third period as Birmingham defeated Quad City 4-2. The following night, the Torrance, CA native netted the game-winning goal with just under five minutes remaining in regulation as Birmingham downed Huntsville 5-4. The Bulls' eighth win to begin the season broke the old mark previously held by Huntsville, who won seven straight to start the 2010-2011 season. Harris closed out the week with a pair of assists in Birmingham's 6-2 win over the Havoc on Sat- urday.
Last season with Birmingham, Harris scored 26 goals and added 23 assists in 49 games to establish a career-high for points. Harris played Division III hockey at Castleton (VT) State College, where he led the Spartans in scoring three of his four seasons and was named the 2009-10 ECAC East Rookie of the Year and 2010-11 ECAC East Player of the Year.
