SPHL Announces Suspensions

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Monday announced the following suspensions: Knoxville's Mitchell Vandergunst Knoxville's Mitchell Vandergunst has been suspended two games for his actions in Game 35, Macon at Knoxville, played on Friday, November 11.

At the 17:48 mark of the third period, Vandergunst was assessed a minor penalty for instigating, a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct under Rule 46.22 for instigating an altercation in the final five minutes of the game. Vandergunst is considered a repeat offender, having been suspended once already this season for instigator/aggressor in the last five minutes.

Vandergunst will miss Knoxville's games against Peoria (November 18) and Huntsville (November 24).

Knoxville's Spencer Metcalfe Knoxville's Spencer Metcalfe has been suspended two games for his actions in Game 35, Macon at Knoxville, played on Friday, November 11.

At the 17:48 mark of the third period, Metcalfe was assessed a major penalty for fighting, a game miscon- duct for secondary altercation and a game misconduct under Rule 46.2 for being the aggressor in an al- tercation.

Metcalfe will miss Knoxville's games against Peoria (November 18) and Huntsville (November 24).

Knoxville's Luke Sandler Knoxville's Luke Sandler has been suspended one game for his actions in Game 35, Macon at Knoxville, played on Friday, November 11.

During a scrum at the 12:40 mark of the third period in which Sandler was tied up with a Macon player, he removed his opponent's helmet, put him in a headlock and then forcefully pulled the Macon player for- ward off his feet and drove him to the ice, landing on top of him.

Sandler will miss Knoxville's game against Peoria on November 18.
