KANNAPOLIS, NC - Charlie Leesman dominated the Greensboro Grasshoppers for seven innings on Sunday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, as the Intimidators won their sixth straight, 3-0.

The shutout was the league-best 14th of the season for the Kannapolis pitching staff. Leesman (11-4) deserved much of the credit for the clean sheet, delivering seven strong frames. The southpaw struck out eight and walked just two.

Leroy Hunt and Drew O'Neil polished off the ‘Hoppers with a scoreless inning each, with O'Neil taking his first save of the season.

Kannapolis led three batters into the contest and never looked back. Kenny Williams kept his hot hitting going with a leadoff double off of Johnny Dorn (10-8) and came into score two batters later on a Luis Sierra sacrifice fly.

The Intimidators padded their advantage with two runs in the sixth off of Dorn. Dan Black and Josh Phegley each had two-out RBI hits to knock the Greensboro starter out of the game.

The win sent the Intimidators four games clear of their nearest opposition in the Northern Division, as Lake County was off on Sunday. Kannapolis is also tied for the best overall record in the South Atlantic League at 64-48.
