MARIETTA, GA -
RADIO BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR
BEN INGRAM - MISSISSIPPI BRAVES
The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs is pleased to announce that Ben Ingram of the Mississippi Braves has been named its 2009 Radio Broadcaster of the Year, as selected by his peers and the league's general managers. Ingram's first two seasons as the full-time voice of the Braves have been eventful to say the least. In 2008, Mississippi won its first Southern League championship in arguably one of the most exciting and improbable finishes in recent memory and now Ingram has some hardware of his own. After earning a communications/mass media degree from Mississippi College in 2003, Ingram was the play-by-play voice for the Jackson Senators of the Independent League. From there, he earned his first job in affiliated baseball, landing the play-by-play job for the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League. Ingram joined the Mississippi broadcast team in 2007 as the No. 2 broadcaster.

STACY LONG - MONTGOMERY BISCUITS
The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs is pleased to announce that Stacy Long of the Montgomery Advertiser has been named its 2009 Sportswriter of the Year, as selected by the league's radio broadcasters and general managers. He also connects with fans through frequent blogs, keeping readers informed about happenings in each of Tampa Bay's affiliates and Biscuits players past and present.
