Marion - The Southern Illinois Miners announced the launch of their new stadium webcam. The webcam can be viewed by logging on the Southern Illinois Miners website, www.southernillinoisminers.com.
The webcam rests on top of the new Menards building, located just behind the stadium's right field wall. The webcam will allow fans the opportunity to check the progress of stadium construction from the convenience of their own computers. The images are updated every 10 seconds starting at dawn and ending at dusk. The last image taken at dusk will remain on the webcam until the following morning.
"I am extremely excited with this added feature we're able to offer Miners Fans. Everyday there are a large number of visitors to construction site, but because the stadium is subterranean it's hard to see the full stadium construction progress. The webcam will offer fans a unique look at the stadium's progress on regular basis. I also would like to thanks Gayland Hickman of Menards for allowing us to place the camera at their building" stated General Manager Tim Arseneau.
