
South East Hockey League Announces 2003-2004 All Star Team

The South East Hockey League has released the 2003-2004 All-Star Team. The team was decided by a vote of the league's head coaches, team front office personnel, and media representatives from each of the four league cities. Voters could not vote for members of their own team.
Goaltender: Matt Carmichael, Huntsville Channel Cats
Defenseman: Scott Young, Cape Fear Fire Antz
Defenseman: Alex Alepin, Knoxville Ice Bears
Forward: James Patterson, Huntsville Channel Cats

Goaltender: Matt Carmichael, Huntsville Channel Cats
Carmichael, from Bristol, Quebec leads the South East Hockey League in the following:
Goals against average: 2.67
Wins: 31
Shutouts: 3
Save percentage: 92.3%
Carmichael has been named "Goaltender of the Week" five times this season.
Defenseman: Scott Young, Cape Fear Fire Antz
The veteran from Oakville, Ontario has helped solidify the Fire Antz defense since joining the team in December. Young leads all SEHL defensemen in scoring with 10 goals-24 assists-34 points. He is also +19 and has tallied 68 penalty minutes.
Defenseman: Alex Alepin, Knoxville Ice Bears
The native of Montreal, Quebec has anchored the Knoxville defense all season. He was named SEHL "Player of the Week" on January 28th and has tallied 12 goals-17 assists for 29 points this season. He is +4 and has earned 201 penalty minutes.
Forward: James Patterson, Huntsville Channel Cats
Patterson leads the SEHL in scoring with 44 goals-73 assists-117 points. The Wayne, Michigan native also leads the league in assists with his 73, and is an impressive +27 on the season. He has been named "SEHL Player of the Week" three times this season.
Forward: Allan Carr, Huntsville Channel Cats
The first year pro has lit up the SEHL all season. Carr, from Merlin, Ontario, is second in the SEHL in scoring with 56 goals-55 assists-111 points. His 56 goals leads the SEHL in that category. Carr also leads the SEHL in power play goals: 20, short handed goals: 4, and game winning goals: 12. Carr also leads the SEHL in plus/minus with +35 and was twice named SEHL "Player of the Week".
Forward: K.J. Voorhees, Knoxville Ice Bears
K.J. is third in the SEHL in scoring with 49 goals- 51 assists- 100 points. The Lake Stevens, Washington native has been named "Player of the Week" five times this season. Voorhees is second in the SEHL in goals (49), second in power play goals (18), and second in plus/minus with +29.
The remaining South East Hockey League post-season award winners will be named throughout the playoffs. These awards will include most valuable player, coach of the year, rookie of the year, defenseman of the year, and goaltender of the year.
