
South Chicago Ball Stars Add To Ownership Group

Chicago, IL. The ABA South Chicago Ball Stars would like to introduce Lester Coney as a new member of the ownership team. Les is Executive Vice President, Office of the Chairman at Mesirow Financial, a position he has held since 2006. Prior to joining Mesirow, Les was with United Healthcare and Traveler's Insurance where he was Director of Key Accounts and National Sales Director.
He has numerous accomplishments including being named one of the most influential African Americans in October 2007 by Who's Who in Black Chicago, 2007 Executive Leader Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Chicago, the 2007 King Legacy Award from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, Community Service Award by the 100 Black Men in 2005 and Crain's Chicago Business Top 50 Minorities in 2004. "We are very pleased and proud to have Les as part of the South Chicago Ball Stars Executive Management team," stated Co-owner Ron Hicks. "Les' background and experience in marketing and basketball, plus his extraordinary contacts will make him a very important part of our team as we strive to be one of the best in the ABA."
