Chicago Steam Announces August Youth Camp

Chicago, IL. The ABA Chicago Steam today announced that it would hold its 2010 Co-ed Basketball Camp August 2nd-5th at the Whitney Young High School, 211 South Laflin Street, Chicago, IL 60607.

The 2010 Chicago Steam Basketball Camp is committed to providing campers with the opportunity to improve their game, reach their goals, and enjoy their experienced under the tutulage of an experienced staff of professional coaches and players who will work with each camper individually to help them improve their basketball skills and realize their playing potential. The camp staff takes much pride in establishing a fun and competitive environment.

Coach Ron Hicks and his camp staff will focus on total player development, teamwork and sportsmanship.

All campers will be divided by age and skill level. The focus areas for the camp will consist of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing and defense. The goal is to have each player improve by the end of the week.

The staff will be comprised of current and former NBA, ABA and collegiate players.

Coach Ron Hicks: Head coach/co-owner of the Chicago Steam, will oversee the camp. He has also coached at Triton College, Illinois Institute of Technology, Malcolm X College and in France and Sweden.

Sam Mack is a former NBA player with the Houston Rockets, Vancouver Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs.

Kenny Battle is a former NBA player with the Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.

Javon Coney is a former Latin High School standout and will be entering his senior year at the U of Colorado as a guard.

Keisha Collins is a former stadout at Marian Catholic, just finished her career at Loyola University in Chicago and is currently a starting guard for the Chicago Lady Steam.
